Financial Controller

Objectives: The primary role for this post is to work in partnership with the Managing Director and executive team of an SME to provide a comprehensive financial accounting and management service. The company has a turnover of £3M upwards and is rapidly expanding; it is a fast paced, sales driven and dynamic business.
Key Outputs:
• The FC will manage monthly management accounts, all financial reporting, contract negotiations, customer support and payroll, as well as a credit control service.
• The FC will manage a team of 3 people and will be the key focus for financial advice within the business; balancing rapid growth and changing demands you must be able to juggle a raft of responsibilities.
Experience & Qualifications:
Candidates must be a qualified accountant with a sound knowledge of UK Accounting Standards
• Demonstrable post qualification expertise
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff and demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt and lead during periods of rapid growth
• Ability to prioritise, manage and develop financial controls whilst maintaining accuracy and high professional standards
• Technical literacy, including Excel, Sage and CRM Systems
• Maintaining a high quality of customer service and meeting deadlines whilst contending with changing priorities
• Negotiating and liaising with external stakeholders such as the bank, investors and key suppliers
• Ability to work and achieve under pressure
• Experience of business acquisitions, mergers and sales.
Competencies:
A team player; A pro-active & innovative approach; Good written communication and presentation skill; A background in commerce.
The role is currently immediately available and we are seeking an interim to fill the vacancy until the permanent candidate is appointed; this could be an interim to permanent appointment for the right candidate.
