Commercial Operations Manager (UK)
Our client is a privately held software company, with their headquarters in New York, which belongs to a select group of medium to large software and hardware companies from the mid-seventies that are still managed by their founders. They are a leading company in Business Intelligence (BI) and Integration solutions. The group has a worldwide presence with 47 of its own sales offices and 26 national distributors and agents. They have more than 1400 employees worldwide and their revenue in 2007 was more than $315 million, with double digit growth in software license revenue. For the UK office we are seeking a Commercial Operations Manager. The Commercial Operations Manager role is a key resource to the sales organization within the region by assisting in the structure of deals to maximize revenue and managing the retention of maintenance revenue. The role also supports the roll-out and maintenance of standardized processes covering deal approvals, business reporting, maintenance renewals and contract compliance.
Functions: Requirements:
- Act as a key support resource to the sales team in the region during the sales cycle.
- Become familiar with the various forms of licensing models, pricing models, contract templates and business terms which surround the licensing of IBI products and services.
- Get involved in all selling opportunities during the Solution phase by' assisting with deal structuring, documenting and approval.
- Seek revenue maximization for each deal and insure compliance with revenue recognition rules.
- Perform standard due diligence for deals in the region to insure that all approvals, processes and policies have been adhered to.
- Fill out the necessary business reporting forms tallow Financial Operations to invoice closed software and services deals.
- Create and assist in negotiating the contracts which define the terms and conditions for customer use of, or partner involvement with, IBI products.
- Comply with, and participate in, IBI's contract review and approval process which culminates in the full execution and archive of license and partner agreements.
- Review and implement where necessary an accurate customer database for the region that details contracts and license entitlements.
- Support the services team in the region where appropriate to ensure that service offerings maximize the region's profitability.
- Support the Sales management in the planning and reporting the sales results
- Manage and monitor the renewal of software maintenance within the customer base. - A degree in either law, finance or business economics
- Strong business experience
- Strong commercial skills and the ability to negotiate and make decisions where necessary
- Significant experience working in an international high tech company, preferably a software sales environment
- Experience of meeting deadlines and demands of a sales organization at quarter end
- Accounting experience (finalist level) or contract management experience
- Working knowledge of sales forecasting/budgeting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for an international environment.
- Other languages are an advantage
