Main responsibilities:
•Operates computer software, such as laboratory and clinical databases, to review data, generate reports and update data.
•Tracks and reconciles data received for in-house review through use of existing CRF tracking tools.
•Applies corrections and/or updates to the clinical database and appropriate documents (original and/or working copies of CRFs for paper studies) that are identified through query resolution, data entry, text review, study conventions, site request, computerized validation, and/or data importing.
•Performs reconciliation of similar data between multiple data sources.
•Reviews listings to check accuracy and completeness of clinical data.
•Performs internal CDM QC audits of the clinical database against the CRFs including query results for paper studies.
•Demonstrates consistency and good judgment in resolving data discrepancies by applying study conventions accurately and in the correct circumstances, raising clear, accurate queries when conventions are not appropriate, resolving queries correctly answered and re-querying issues which require further information.
•Demonstrates resourcefulness in attempting to solve problems by reviewing project documentation, correspondence and operating procedures before seeking assistance.
•Completes tasks within timelines by appropriately prioritizing multiple tasks within or across projects, minimizing backlog and managing time constraints across projects.
•Seeks direction from management as required.
•Adapts to timeline or priority changes by reorganizing daily workload.
•Proactively communicates to CDM Management/DM accurate estimates on time to complete tasks, availability to take on new assignments and resourcing conflicts.
•Demonstrates customer-oriented communication skills responding to management and team correspondence promptly and within agreed upon timeframes, cooperating with requests and utilizing appropriate method of communication based on urgency and type of information being communicated.
•Prepares in advance for meetings, completes action items within required timeframe and attends internal meetings regularly, providing input and demonstrating respect for the opinions of others.
•Interfaces with Sponsor, Safety, Biostatistics, Coding, CDM or other Sponsor personnel as necessary to answer project questions and resolve data issues.
•Displays willingness to work with others and assist with projects and department initiatives as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
•Provides Helpdesk support duties for EDC projects including submitting new account requests, deactivating/reactivating accounts, password resets and managing timely resolution of issues raised through Helpdesk.
Skills and attributes include:
•The candidate/incumbent is preferred to have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (for Europe, a degree in life sciences, or qualification in medical documentation/health-related field which is considered equivalent). Candidate/incumbent should have a 0-2 years of relevant industry experience.
•In addition, candidate/incumbent should be computer literate and possess good verbal and written English language skills.
•Those most successful in this role are those who enjoy learning new systems, facts and processes and achieving technical or subject matter mastery.
•Candidate/incumbent should enjoy identifying errors and solving problems. This role requires a talent for logical thinking, detailed work and prioritizing the urgency of multiple requests.
•Candidate/incumbent should be proactive, excel at completing assignments, working towards deadlines and having personal accountability for the quality of work.
•Candidate/incumbent should be able to work independently and interact with staff in a team environment as required.
