Substance misuse practitioner

Experience prescribing substitutes for opiate addicted substance misuse clients is essential. A professional qualification (RGN/RMN or QSW) a benefit.



A Fens service is looking for a substance misuse practitioner to take on a case load of opiate addicted clients. The role will involve assessing new clients into the service and designing care plans to assess there addictive behaviour and prescribe suitable doses of substitutes such as subutex or methadone. The successful candidate will then be required to reassess and titrate clients to establish a dose which will make the client stable and most open to treatment through key working. This position may go permanent.
