Senior Engineer - Symbian

Reporting To: VP Handset Engineering

Job Purpose:
To design, develop and test the next generation of mobile multimedia applications.
To work in a senior role in an international development team to produce performant, resilient and extensible mobile products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop applications for Symbian v9.x (S60 and UIQ).
Develop architecture and low-end designs based on external customer requirements and industry quality guidelines.
Communication of designs and other development issues to developers and managers.
Design, develop and manage automated unit and acceptance tests
Liaise with tier-one network operators and phone manufacturers.
Peer review of design code and tests
Participate in agile development program
Bug Fixing

Skills and Abilities Required:
Mobile design and development.
Excellent knowledge of Symbian operating systems (S60 v3.x, UIQ v3.x) including application signing and verification
Strong application process flow and problem solving techniques.
High levels of software engineering literacy and communication skills
Friendly and professional manner

Desirable:
Experience of working in an agile (XP) environment.
Product development and lifecyle experience
Knowledge of mobile network infrastructure

Qualifications:
Miminum 3 years Symbian development (or 5 years C++ on resource-constrained devices)
Third Level Qualifications in computing, mathematics or science.
