Project Management Associate

Organisation:

The Charging Business Unit (CBU) consists of 3 divisions reporting to the CBU Vice President. These are Sales, Product Line & Services. The CBU Product Line is made up of the following four departments:
• Systems Definition
• Product Development
• Test & Release Management
• Project & Program Management.

The Project Management Associate will report to the Head of Project & Program Management.

Role:
As a member of the Project Management Group the successful candidate will participate in the provision of Project Management Services for the Charging Business Unit product line. The successful candidate will work with the Project Management team in a highly skilled, pro-active and innovative working environment.

This role involves the following:
• Resource Planning for projects over a 12
month horizon – using the in-house
Excel-based planning tools to balance
project resource demands vs resource
availability across multiple
competence/skills groups
• Scheduling, chairing & minuting meetings
to gather latest updates on projects &
resources so the plan can be kept up to
date & accurate
• Using the planning tools to generate
scenario plans for presentation to
management at regular planning
review/decision meetings.
• Generating monthly/quarterly reports on
resource usage for Finance
• Support Project Managers in generating &
updating Microsoft Project Plans for
software development projects in MS
Project / MS Project Server
• Support Project Managers & Program Manager
in keeping Program Office Wikis & web
pages updated & accurate
• Project Manage small projects (e.g. Change
Requests) to develop project management
skills

Skills and Qualifications:
A third level qualification in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science is essential, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience.

Particular assets for this role include:
• Experienced user of MS Project & Excel,
PowerPoint & Visio
• Good organisational and coordination
skills
• Good communications & presentation skills

In addition the following skill would be advantageous:
• Experience of MS Project Server or similar
tool
• Experience/knowledge of Visual Basic
• Genuine Interest in Project Management and
a willingness to develop into such a role

A high level of self-motivation, initiative and good communication skills are required.
