E&I Specialist Engineer
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for the effective, safe leadership of the EC&I Department and all associated planning and management of both day-to-day and longer term EC&I engineering and maintenance activities and initiatives.
To provide overall leadership of the EC&I Department.
MAIN DUTIES
To contribute to the development and leadership of delivery of the TPS EC&I philosophy including the operational strategy and overall performance measures.
To act as leader and manager of the EC&I Department and other assigned personnel at TPS. To take overall responsibility for the supervision, development, welfare and overall effectiveness of all assigned personnel.
Effectively lead, support and contribute to the planning and management of day-to-day and longer-term EC&I Engineering and Maintenance strategies, policies and procedures, balancing commercial and safety considerations. To include their effective communication and understanding by all relevant employees; the monitoring and evaluation of their effectiveness and as required any change or improvement management.
Take an active, SHE and commercially focus in leading and supporting the EC&I outage planning and preparation. This is with both other TPS Departments and Outage Contract Managers and Alliance Partners. Ensure a balance between outage and running plant requirements is delivered.
To be recognised as the focal point within the business of professional EC&I expertise on areas including all legislative standards and requirements, site security, incident control procedures and standards, crisis management, fire safety, noise and other areas of business significance.
To champion continuous improvements. To achieve this by undertaking agreed audits, surveys and other monitoring processes to the required standards and timeframes of safety initiatives and programmes, accidents, incidents and reports. To monitor the effectiveness of these standards and reviewing and putting in place any action points and/or improvements.
Ensure all EC&I contracts operate within agreed budgetary requirements, taking action to reduce costs and overall risk levels.
As required, deputise for their direct line manager, carrying out assigned responsibilities.
Establish strong, effective relationships with all management members of the Electrical and Maintenance Department and its key customers – internal and external.
