Title: Area Sales Manager
Location: Home based
Reporting Line: Automation Sales Manager
Main responsibilities: Responsible for the profitable sale of automation products within a defined sales territory to ensure year on year profitable growth.

Principle Accountabilities:
• Building the UK automation switch box, positioner and ancillaries business to ensure year on year profitable growth
• Promoting the UK automation business as the first point of contact for all actuated/automated valve packages
• Selling the company automation products profitably within company accepted guidelines and standards
• Where profitable, to sell OEM products within a total company package
• Ensuring 100% customer satisfaction
• Implementing training programmes to ensure end users, and where necessary, distributors, are trained to the required level.

Territory:
• Applicants should live in the South of the UK, preferably within 1 hour’s travel of the London area
• Area responsibility will include UK South of Birmingham down
• There may be an occasional need to cover other areas of the UK and visits to the Head Office in Sussex when required.
• This is a home-based job with normally 4 days per week spent in the field visiting and managing customer needs, as well as developing new outlets to ensure sales growth targets are achieved for both the Company and the individual’s objectives

Candidate:
• Engineering qualification, minimum HNC but degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
• Thorough understanding of instrumentation and automation
• Proven history of solving technical problems in a wide variety of situations
• Commercially astute, “results driven” and an effective presenter/communicator
• Able to identify and develop profitable opportunities within the process control industries
• Able to forge close working relationships with existing and potential candidates




Benefits Package:
• Normal working week is 37.5 hours
• Benefits include 25 days holiday, contributory purchase pension scheme, life assurance cover, long-term disability insurance and Health Cash plan
• Salary will be in the range of £31,400 to £36,300 per annum, depending upon skills and experience
• In addition, the jobholder will be eligible to participate in a Sales Incentive Plan (20% target) and be provided with a company car, laptop etc. as ‘tools of the trade.;
