Social Work Assistant

Previous experience as a social work assistant or a children and families support worker is essential. Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 is essential. Previous experience reviewing care packages for children and families would be a benefit.

An Essex service requires a social work assistant to support a qualified social worker for children, young people and families. The successful candidate will undertake initial assessments where there are no identified child protection concerns. Duties will include assisting clients with practical tasks and liaising with external agencies to ensure the child’s needs are met. Duties will also include collecting information on behalf of the social worker and advising clients on benefit entitlement. This post would offer the opportunity to gain experience in a statutory setting.
