Apertio HLR Engineer


Our client is currently in need of an CS Core Engineer HLR Apertio expert to take up an initial 6 month contract which will be based at their operations in North Africa.

Functional Requirements

Provide project implementation support for Apertio HLR customers in the region
Primary point of contact for customer technical staff for the Apertio HLR
Liaising with Apertio HLR support team from Subscriber Data Management Business Line to ensure seamless resolution of service requests from the customer.
Train junior engineers in the local office Care team
Part of escalation chain for technical issues
Build relationships with other key departments and utilise to assist in delivery of service.
Assist Care Program Manager in his duties as required.
Work with Partners and other 3rd Parties including development teams to provide problem resolution
Produce reports for customer and management on SLA performance and KPIs
Attend Customer Operational Review Meetings (ORMs) as required.
Promote a customer service orientated culture within the support team.
Monitor status of all open tickets and ensure these are progressed appropriately
Manage/resolve customer raised problems within the defined SLA boundaries
Provide detailed technical responses to customers
Provide technical work-around to customer problems
Member of an on-call rota for out of hours customer support issues
Travel to customer sites within the region.
Skills & Experience
The candidate must have the following technical skills and experience:

Knowledge of Sun Solaris operating system to at least System Administration level
Knowledge of GSM HLR (Home Location Register)
Knowledge of SS7 signalling protocols inc MAP/CAMEL
Knowledge of core GSM Networks
Strong IP Networking experience/skills
Knowledge of Sun hardware
Knowledge of X.500 directories/databases
Knowledge of LDAP and DAP
Personal skills

Excellent written and Oral communication
Willing to travel and work away from home at short notice
