This refurbished Redbridge School teaches autistic pupils from year 1 to year 6. The pupils have severe autustic difficulties. You will ned Makaton sign language at least 2 to 3 years of teaching autistic pupils.
Some pupils will be attanding just for a few days as they also attend mainstream schools.
A knowledge of PECS is essential and it would also be desirable if you are used to TEACCH.
At this school you will find that you will be sent on many training courses and will be well supported by the senior management.
We have had teachers accept permanent positions here after a long term teaching position.
With a well stocked sensory room and a vast resources library you will find enormous support to your teaching.
Set in gorgeous grounds surrounded by fields there is plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities.
Experience of work with PMLD puils would be beneficial too.
