Substance misuse practitioner

Experience case managing drug and alcohol clients with substitute prescription needs is essential. Knowledge of withdrawl symptoms for class A drugs is essential.

A local service is looking for a substance misuse practitioner to work alongside in a team offering interventions to Class A drug users presenting a need for prescribed substitutes (methadone or subutex). The role will involve carrying a case load of clients, assessing their needs before designing a care plan to include initial dosage and follow up titration sessions to stabalise use. During these sessions the successful candidate will be required to monitor for withdrawl and overdose symptoms as well as on top usage.
