The company





Our client's core business is the design; manufacture and commissioning of integrated drive and control systems incorporating variable speed drives, programmable logic controllers and SCADA.



They offer full systems integrator services to a wide range of customers, both in the UK and overseas, with strategic partnerships with many of the major UK equipment manufacturers including ABB, Siemens and Rockwell. Our client has wide experience and application knowledge in industries, including, but not limited to, metals, marine, rubber, plastics, paper, transportation, materials handling and general manufacturing.

The vacancy



They currently have a vacancy for an experienced Project Engineer who will be capable of handling various industrial projects involving detail design (hardware and software) through to and including on-site commissioning, if required. The position reports to the Chief Engineer.



Responsible for project management, product selection, planning and budgetary matters in addition to detail design, the Project Engineer will often be the first point of contact for the customer and as such there is a requirement for good commercial and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar environment and good knowledge of a range of variable speed drives, PLCs and SCADA/HMI products.



The position of Project Engineer is based in our Telford office.



Travel within the UK and overseas is a requirement of the position.



The position commands a competitive salary plus company car.





The candidate



The candidate will ideally be qualified to degree level in electrical/electronic engineering, have previous experience in a similar environment and a good working knowledge of a range of variable speed drives, PLCs and SCADA/HMI products.



They should be used to working either on their own or as part of a team, and be used to managing and documenting the information required for a successful project.



Experience of drive control and automation in heavy industries such as metal, printing and paper etc is also a requirement.
