Substance misuse practitioner

Experience case managing substance misuse clients is essential. An RMN or RGN qualification would be a benefit.

A local service is looking for a substance misuse worker to take on a case load of class A clients with prescription needs. The role will involve initially assessing their needs, designing a careplan involving advocating an initial dose of methadone or subutex before stabalising a client using titration. The successful client must be able to spot symptoms relating to overdoses, withdrawl and on top usage and adjust dosage accordingly. If the successful candidate is a nurse then they would be expected to dispense controlled drugs.
