The appropriate candidate must be able to effectively and efficiently co-ordinate all aspects of the programmes, these must include the following;

1. Review, assess and follow-up all referrals against agreed selection criteria.

2. Ensure that all programme work is clearly within child protection guidelines and that
any child protection issues, which arise, are referred to the Programme
Manager and Chief Executive, and the appropriate agency promptly and sensitively.

3. Prepare quarterly programme reports incorporating qualitative and quantitative
information relating to the programme - including summaries of progress of all mentoring relationships, meetings/liaison with schools and other agencies, number of children and mentors analysed according to relevant characteristics (age, gender, school, ethnic background, etc.), programme highlights and challenges.#

4. Contribute to the design, development, implementation and evaluation of new
programme initiatives and interventions, as may be required from time to time, such
as parent mentoring and other projects.


A recognised degree in social work, youth work, child development, psychology, the probation service or related fields or experience within those fields is appropriate. Experience will be essential.
