Wireless DSP Research & Development

Communications research organisation has a new vacancy on their DSP Wireless Signal Processing Team. Candidates will have some of the following skills: Wireless, DSP algorithms and implementation in C/C++, Matlab, HDL, FPGA, PHY technologies, MIMO, OFDM, FEC, Forward Error Correction, LDPC, Turbo Coding, WLAN, WMAN, air-interfaces, WCDMA, cdma2000, WiMax, IEEE 802.1

Hugely successful Research and Development facility based in the UK has a new vacancy for Senior Wireless Research Engineer to work in their Advanced Wireless Research Group.

The team works at the forefront of high-throughput, short-range, wireless physical layer algorithms and techniques with an aim to produce intellectual property and disseminate work through internationally renowned publications. In addition, the team is also involved in the optimisation of these algorithms to facilitate their implementation in high-speed architectures.

Candidates will also have:

o Air-interfaces (OFDM, SC-FDE, CDMA, etc.)
o Diversity/multiplexing theory and techniques (SIMO, MISO, MIMO)
o Precoding/beamforming
o Detection/estimation theory
o Mathematical analysis (e.g., advanced calculus, probability theory)

Desirables:
o Forward error correction, esp. LDPC and/or Turbo Coding
o Knowledge & understanding of baseband signal processing architectures
o Knowledge of channel modelling
o Knowledge of WLAN/WPAN standards (e.g. IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15.3, WiMedia, etc.)


PhD's (or equivalent) preferred but generally a good academic record and research experience will be looked upon favourably.
