Chef & Host - Chamonix, Mont Blanc ski chalet

We’re looking to employ a friendly, motivated, hard-working couple (or 2 friends happy to share a room) to run our 6-bedroomed chalet in Chamonix this winter.

Our package includes live-in accommodation (own room with bathroom), food and drink, ski equipment hire, ski pass, insurance and a highly competitive wage.

A major part of the job will be managing a kitchen, planning menus, budgeting, grocery shopping and cooking (for up to 18 guests), so at least one of you must be a chef or highly competent cook, able to provide references of your cooking experience and capabilities, or previous chalet experience.

Duties will include providing breakfasts (including eggs and bacon), afternoon teas with baked cakes, pre-dinner canapés and three-course dinners on six days of the week (incl. kids and vegetarians). You’ll also be looking after all the needs of the guests, keeping the chalet clean throughout (daily cleaning of rooms), some guest transport, cleaning the hot tub/snow blowing when necessary, and generally ensuring the guests enjoy a fantastic holiday.

This is a great opportunity to experience a winter season in one of the best resorts in the Alps, working hard but having plenty of fun too, meeting new people and of course, enjoying lots of skiing/snowboarding.

APPLICANTS SHOULD:
Be available from early December to end April,
Be a British or EU citizen (or have a relevant working visa), or even more ideally have a National Insurance number
Have a full, clean driving license
Be over 23 years of age
Be physically fit with no recent major illnesses, able to ski or board and be a non smoker.
Have good people skills as you will be required to interact with clients on an ongoing basis.
Preferably have previous experience of running a ski chalet.

Be able to provide references.
