SMC Engineer
Working as part of a dedicated team to ensure customers agreed service levels are met. You will be dynamic, proactive, able to work as part of a team and alone. Must have excellent understanding of Internet services & network integration. You will be customer focused and have excellent problem solving abilities. This is an office based role working a 24X7 shift pattern consisting of 4 X 12 hours shifts followed by 4 rest days.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Recording customer reported faults
Monitoring System detected faults
Fault investigation and escalation
Updating customers with fault progress and liaising with other engineers when required.
First line diagnostics on network elements and fault rectification
The successful candidate will haev a working knowledge of one or more of the following:
Desktop operating systems such as Sun Solaris, Windows, NT,
Lan technologies such as Ethernet
Wan technologies such as ISDN, ATM
Network protocols such as TCP/IP
ISP Services
