Chief Technology Officer

Our Client is a security software development start-up with international reach and backed up by tier-one VCs.
Our Client has a suite of software which has already been awarded several technology prizes and continues to be nominated for more. Their achievements this year include: European ICT Prize 2007 (nominee), European Top 100 Red Herring companies (finalist), Spanish Tech Tour (selected).

They are looking to hire a Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The CTO reports to the CEO and is responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision and leading all aspects of the company’s technology development and implementation. The CTO is the company's top technology executive, playing an integral role in the company’s strategic direction, development, and future growth.

Responsibilities:

• Rapidly assimilate and enrich the company’s current software engineering processes and Intellectual Property.

• Lead the development and execution of the technology architecture, platform and roadmap.

• Manage all technology partnerships and external relationships.

• Build and manage a top-flight international development team and oversee research and development, as well as product management ( currently 12 people).

• Provide visible leadership for the company within the technology community.

• Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape.

• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps.

• Background in the IT security and ecommerce industry involving encryption, digital signatures, timestamping and online transaction.
• Excellent at communication skills in English

• Proven track record of creating and meeting aggressive release schedules for new security software products

• At least 7 years in technology, with 5 in an executive-level position (technical product management and/or head of developments).

• BS in Computer Science or IT required, MS or MBA preferred. CISSP and CISA certifications highly valued

• Strong desire to relocate to Barcelona with long-term view plan
