Technical Lead Web Technologies

Our Client, a leading outsource solution for e-commerce, is seeking bright, motivated, well-rounded Technical Leads to provide technical excellence and leadership within the fast-paced, project-oriented Java/J2EE Web Technologies software engineering teams. Our Client desires experts in the areas of Web/Java/J2EE software development who will become key decision makers in the software design and implementation processes.

Technical Leads work closely with the Database, Architecture, Project Management and other software teams to implement technology solutions for new and existing web applications. Technical Leads ensure a high-level of technical quality and integrity inside the development team and across the various development team activities. Technical Leads participate in all phases of a project including: planning, spec review & signoff, design, development, code reviews, testing and ongoing support.

Responsibilities:

• Promote team-oriented environment, working closely with all levels of product development staff and third-party development teams.
• Provide technical and project leadership for teams of 3-5 Java engineers.
• Design, document, and implement new web-based solutions to support business needs.
• Participate in requirements gathering, risk analysis and estimation tasks.
• Assist support and infrastructure teams with problem resolution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Advanced technical degree is a plus.
• 3+ years experience leading software development teams including architecture, design, and project management responsibility.
• 5 years experience developing Web-specific J2EE applications.
• 3 years experience scripting SQL (statements, stored procedures, triggers). PL/SQL strongly preferred.
• 3 years experience using Struts and/or Spring MVC.
• Experience in Unix command-line environments.
• Availability to travel to USA at the beginning of the contract for 4-8 weeks. Availability for 1-2 yearly trips to USA
• Excellent English (or native) is a must

Preferred (Must have at least 5 from the following) :

• Experience using Oracle 8i or higher and BEA Web Logic 7.0 or higher.
• Experience using JUnit.
• Experience developing and using custom tag libraries. JSTL experience is a plus.
• Experience developing XML parsers.
• Experience developing JMS/JMX applications.
• Experience developing Web Services (SOAP).
• Experience refactoring existing systems to design patterns.
• Experience with ANT and/or Maven.
• Prior experience in e-commerce software application development.
• Experience with Websphere MQ.
• Experience using Object/Relational Mapping libraries (iBatis and/or Hibernate).
• Experience using Extreme Programming (XP).
