1 year Financial Services Training Scheme

OFTA is offering a 1 year mentoring programme into the mortgage broker industry which provides all the relevant training and a guaranteed placement in a job, so that within a matter of weeks you are earning and as well as learning.

OFTA is a not for profit international trade association, providing mortgage industry training placements and training for accredited qualifications including the banking industry's IFS Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice and, in the EU, the CBFA (Belgium) and international employers recognised International Broker Certificate.

Successful applicants will win a place on the programme and be placed in a trainee position with a participating firm. If you are not qualified we will provide the resources for you to study and pass CMAP. You will be fast tracked to Competent Advisor Status and begin professional practise. We will provide a mentoring system throughout the process and at the end of the year we will help you implement your international industry options.

We expect you to be earning a minimum of £30,000 per year within 6 months.

Requirements
Entry level is available for candidates with or without CMAP
(or equivalent qualification)
• The ability to study intensively in a formal training environment
• To pass professional exams (FSA & OFTA)
• To be able to succeed at achieving Competent Adviser Status
• No UK government work restrictions
• Excellent English Language skills.

Cost/Benefit

The programme will cost £6,500 plus VAT. This is usually the point at which most people say: “no chance - I’d prefer to try my chances in the job market”. Our experience and research tells us the following:
• Prospective employers are interested in practical experience not how qualified you are
• £6,500 is a fraction of £30,000 –the amount we expect you to be making within your first year.
• Most Masters courses last for a year, cost considerably more and offer no practical benefits.
