Assistant Resident Engineer

We are looking for an assistant Resident Engineer to work in Qatar. Bachelors Degree in Civil engineering from an accredited University. A Master's degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for five years of experience.

Experiences
1)Minimum (12) years - supervision and management of large-scale civil construction projects with emphasis on surface ground water, storm water management projects, drainage networks, infrastructure and environmental projects, monitoring all the project aspects to achieve the proper management and construction compliance with the specifications and quality requirements. He is to possess the aptitude to manage directing, planning, and coordinating the administrative and fiscal aspects of the projects.

2)experience within Micro-tunnelling works, procedures, setup of machinery and equipment in full safety, monitoring site activities (jack, laser setting, tunnel-lubrication, ventilation facilities, reviewing drive records and daily records and the adequacy of safety provisions), liaison with relevant authorities officials, main Contractor and Sub-Contractors and promote better alignment between project team members. Must possess the knowledge of surveying methods and techniques and ability to lead a team of surveyors.

3)skills in respect of the technical proposals evaluation and its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical problems that may arise during construction, review material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, verify the quality of all construction materials, prepare weekly and monthly reports and ensure compliance with the environmental polices and safety measures. Conduct oversight of risks and rectifications in the implementation of the project is an essential capacity for the position.

4)Knowledge and experience in respect of the international construction contract laws, contract administration procedures and perceptive understanding of public authority procedures, codes, ordinances and regulations

5)Must have the aptitude to update his engineering knowledge, maintain continuous training particularly as to Health, Safety and Environmental issues, Computer Literacy and utilize computer software packages within all relevant engineering fields to review, evaluate and process project data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.

6)Have the aptitude to monitor the progress, revise, update, present scheduling for the work activities and resources, cost managing and setting up productivity-based forecasts and recommendations at how to best utilize resources, lessen congestion, improve safety and increase longevity of the infrastructure.

7)Perform a broad range of general design activities on a variety of public infrastructure projects including Pumping Stations, Outfall and onshore structures, piping networks; groundwater control systems; prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates; analyze, interpret, and plot engineering data; interpret the application of design criteria; and check plans and specifications for accuracy of design and completeness.

8)General:- Ability to: prepare accurate plans, specifications, cost estimates and engineering reports; write clear, concise and accurate technical and non-technical reports, correspondence, and memoranda and fluent in written and spoken English. and should be self-motivated and proactive in nature.
