Associate Engineer – Civil Division
Due to the increasing success of our Client’s Civil Engineering Division, a rare opportunity has become available for an Associate to join our Client and manage an established Engineering team whilst developing existing projects and new areas of work in the Birmingham office.
My Client cover the traditional building services area of M&E as well as offering a wider range of services covering for example: due diligence, structural engineering, acoustics, building physics, sustainable energy, refurbishment, environmental and energy audits (including BREEAM), asbestos management, geotechnics, health and safety and waste management. We can deal with each of these aspects individually or as an holistic package working with other professionals such as architects and lawyers.
The correct candidate will be preferably MICE or BEng and a solid proven infrastructure water/drainage and highways experience.
The Client have a variety of exciting projects in the region that the candidate would become involved in. These include redevelopment of Willington power station, several developments in and around Derby, high rise development in Birmingham, urban extension to Northampton, Rugby gateway, Eastern expansion of Milton Keynes to name but a few.
This post is essentially to lead a new team of civil engineers in the Birmingham office. The chosen candidate will be given the support to develop their own team. In the interim as the team grows, support to the individual will be given from the existing technical resource in Northampton and Warrington.

The Candidate should:
Be responsible for single point of contact to clients
Timely & accurate delivery of rapidly changing goals and programmes
Project manage numerous internal specialist teams
Lead a developing civil engineering team in Birmingham
Liaise with other offices as appropriate
Develop own portfolio of work and clients
In addition, you must have the necessary skills and experience to manage and motivate team members to deliver profit and quality projects on time with the aptitude to develop long term relationships with clients.
Current work includes office & commercial, education (including universities), residential, mixed use projects, transport related projects, retail developments, laboratories & scientific buildings, industrial projects and call and data centres.
