TEST DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Company
This company’s GSM products provide operators with new ways to deploy and manage GSM infrastructure.

The Role
To development production test systems for range of nanoBTS. Provide support on existing systems. Design test systems to keep production test time to a minimum. Liaise with development engineering to ensure DFT optimisation. Definition and implementation of result databases. Development of custom test scripts. Liaison with factory production test engineers providing support and training on systems. Requires UK and overseas travel.

Reporting to Manufacturing Manager, this is a key role within the manufacturing group. Suitable candidates will have detailed knowledge of current best practices in high volume RF production test development and implementation, including database design for multiple manufacturing locations. Acting as resident expert in Design for Test best practice liaison with internal development engineering teams to ensure that any developed product is optimized for test coverage. Candidate will have a proven track record in the delivery of production test solutions to multiple manufacturing locations in tight timescales.

Essential Requirements

· Degree/HND in Electronics / Computing
· Understand production test working environment.
· An understanding of software configuration management and version control principles and tools (such as MKS System Integrity, PVCS, RCS, etc)
· Ability to work independently
· NI Teststand
· SQL Database
· GBIP programming
· Installing Windows device driver
· Test fixture design
· Hardware design using micro-controller for test fixtures
· C/C++, VB.NET
· Microsoft Office

One or more of the following would be desirable:
· TCP/IP, DHCP, TFTP protocol
· GSM/UMTS
· Product testing
· RF instrumentation control and measurement
· Basic electronic principle
· Borland C Builder
