Low level software engineer (USB technolgies)

ALTEN LTD seek a talented software engineer to work on the design and development of Symbian OS components, porting of the Symbian OS to new hardware platforms, component integration and testing. A key aspect of this role will involve the integration testing for USB host and client implementation

The majority of the work will be carried out using C and ARM assembler along with a limited amount of C++..

Responsibilities include:
•Developing designs that meet the hgh-level and detailed requirements.
•Implementing work packages to specification, on time and to quality expectations
•Peer to peer code reviews.
•Contributing to design and development of unit and integration tests and test harnesses

Essential
# Advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of USB technologies.
# Experience of full SDLC.
# Excellent C skills
# Real time embedded development
# Up to date knowledge of USB Standards.
# Up to date knowledge of USB communications protocol,
# Up to date knowledge of USB client/host software implementation
# Test Harness Design and implementation
# Kernel side programming
# Device driver – design and implementation

Desirable
# Symbian OS knowledge / experience.
# Experience of ARM Assembler.
