Support Analyst
Role
Working within the IS department you will play a key role in keeping product developments running smoothly and on schedule by managing the CAD and R&D development tools. You will define, maintain and develop working procedures and software systems. A key focus will be to maximise the benefits of CSR's substantial investment in CAD. A pro-active approach and desire for success is essential.
Main Responsibilities
License Management
Monitoring demand and license conflicts/shortages;
Identifying resource bottlenecks (including throughout the RTL to GDSII flow);
Liaising with software suppliers (e.g. Mentor, Tanner, Mathworks, Ansoft, ARM);
Evaluating software packages for usefulness and value;
Purchasing
Server and Platform Support
Predicting and recommending new server requirements and maximising utilisation of existing servers;
Remote site support for CAD applications;
Recommending storage requirements to avoid capacity shortages;
Citrix support and related hardware configurations;
Management of LSF load sharing software for Linux farm;
CAD Management
Revision control coordination across groups;
Coordination of CAD with line managers in ASSP, Digital Physics, Analogue and Software teams;
Document management;
Developing a procedure for R&D project archiving;
Adherence to company procedures
Experience
You have been in an IT environment and you will have strong CAD tool support skills gained, preferably, in a product development environment. Experience in wireless technologies would be an advantage. You must have a technical background and an ability to learn quickly. You will be highly methodical in nature with great attention to detail. Good verbal communication skills are required. Tact and diplomacy in your dealings with people is essential.
Qualifications
The applicant should have a minimum of a good honours degree from a leading institution.
