Quality Controller


Job Title: Quality Time day shifts (working 5 days in every 7, this includes weekend working)

1.0 JOB OVERVIEW

This role involves Quality auditing and checking citrus fruit throughout the production process.

2. 0 JOB AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

2.1 To inspect and supervise the dispatch of product to customers.

2.2 To ensure that all produce is stored in the correct temperature regimes
and that stock is rotated correctly on arrival and during storage.

2.3 Ensure that - damage on the lorry/container is dealt with immediately and that the Technical Manager is informed to initiate the services of a
surveyor within 24 hours.

2.4 To inspect incoming raw material according to procedure and document
and record the findings.

2.5 To be involved in the Packhouse during packing, to assist in setting the customers Quality requirements. To monitor and track the Class II and LRP levels and report any discrepancies.

2.6 Monitor and record any deviances in colour coding during the process
and report to operations team.

2.7 To inspect the Quality, labeling and product integrity prior to being dispatched to the customer - i.e. QA out loading.

2.8 Perform routine internal analysis i.e. sugar/acid ratios.

2.9 To perform stock re-evaluations on a minimum weekly basis or more frequently if and when required.

2.10 To supply Quality reports to the procurement team and fill QC reports together with photographic evidence for problematic loads i.e. loads that arrive colour code yellow/red

2.11 To carry out any other requirement within the role as and when instructed
by Technical /Quality assurance management.

2.12 Monitor performance of finished product over its shelf life and report
deviances to the Technical Manager.

3.0 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 To monitor stock rotation on a daily basis.

3.2 Conduct Month-end reports and any other seasonal reports as and when requested.

3.3 Inspect incoming raw material loads.

3.4 Positive release finished product prior to dispatch.

3.5 Monitor the storage of produce to ensure that the correct temperature is maintained, monitor damages and stock rotation.

3.6 Actively track class ii grade outs and lost in re-pack i.e. waste-decay in the packhouse.

3.7 Monitor and manage the Quality of the produce in storage.

3.8 To collect the samples for residue testing in conjunction with the Technical manager.

3.9 Monitor and report shelf life tests.

3.10 Perform internal Quality checks as per specified frequency and report findings.

· Previous experience in a quality assurance role is beneficial (experience within fruit industry would be an advantage).
