Credit Controller


UK Credit Controller - Credit Controller is £14 -18K.
Job Title : UK Credit Controller
Team : Finance
Hours : Full Time (35 hours per week)
Reports to : Credit Control Manager
Role
Due to the growth of our Credit Control team, we are looking for a Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of accounts on the UK ledger ensuring that invoices are paid in accordance with the agreed payment terms and that queries are resolved efficiently ,through the development of sound working relationships both internally and externally.
Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for an articulate individual with excellent communication skills, professional telephone manner, 'can do' attitude, who wishes to immerse themselves into the commercial dynamics of a successful and rapidly growing company. You will have the opportunity to work closely with all teams, across the company, in particular strong liaison with our Customer Service team and Hotel Supply team.
You will be organised, detail rigorous, quality focussed and passionate about providing the best possible levels of service both internally and externally. You will also be efficient and capable of working on your own initiative and able to multi-task.
Line Manager
The position reports to the Credit Control Manager but with significant exposure to the other Credit Controllers and the whole management team.
Key Responsibility Areas
Credit Control
· Take full responsibility for managing all the financial aspects of a portfolio of accounts.
· Collect payment of invoices via telephone, letter and email in accordance with agreed payment terms on nominated accounts.
· Ensure an appropriate ageing profile is maintained and collection targets are achieved.
· Ensure that Online Reservation Statements (ORS) standards and confirmations are maintained at agreed levels.
· Ensure that standards and levels of telephone collection activity are maintained at agreed target levels.
· Instigate appropriate suspension of services and legal action by reviewing accounts and coordinating these with the Hotel Supply team.
· Pro-actively increase the number of accounts that pay by Direct Debit (where available) or by Bank Transfer.
· Provide accurate credit control summary/reports to Credit Control Supervisor as requested.
· Provide cover for other members of the credit control team as may be required from time to time.
· Ensure a very high standard of service is provided to both internal and external clients.
· Take full responsibility for managing invoice queries, ensuring an efficient and effective resolution.
Working Practices
· Adopt effective and efficient personal working practices in order to maximise time spent on high value credit collection activity.
· Liaison with the Credit Controller Supervisor for authorisation and guidance.
· Pro-actively suggest and implement improvements to reporting and procedures, including assisting in documenting all existing processes and procedures.
· Pro-actively contribute ideas to improve credit control process and systems.
· Provide regular updates to Credit Control Manager on credit control targets, as requested.
Remuneration Package
· Salary commensurate with experience.
· Individual bonus dependent on achievement of personal objectives.
· 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holiday's.
· Development and training relevant to position.
