Sales Applications Engineer
We are looking for people to fill the following positions.
202 Field Applications Engineer
This is a customer-facing technical position involving all aspects of the product. The work involves assisting customers to succesfully apply the product, working with design staff to understand problems and improve design information, development tools and example application code. This position also involves identifying features and functionality that will be required in future applications and bringing this back to assist in product definition. The candidate must demonstrate a knowledge of embedded C programming in either microcontrollers or DSPs, HTML, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and the embedded systems marketplace. Knowledge of digital signal processors is a plus. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented. Some travel is required.
Requirements:
BSc Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification/subject
5+ years microcontroller design experience, hardware or software
Excellent inter-personal skills
Capable of working in a competitive environment
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
Broad knowledge of semiconductor system design processes and procedures
Following are desirable but not prerequisite:
Experience in a customer facing role preferably a semiconductor applications role
Semiconductor design-in experience either of microcontrollers, system on a chip, or similar
Specific applications knowledge of current leading edge applications e.g. wireless, mobile comms and internet enabled devices.
201 Sales Applications Engineer
To interface between Applications and Sales departments. Predominately office based, this role will require some travel within the UK and Europe to support the Sales channel. A second European language would be useful but not essential.
The successful candidate will: -
Provide front-line aid to customers in the resolution of any hardware and software issues
Generate revenue through design wins
Educate customers on products and features to secure design wins.
Establish strong working relationships with customers to assist in the sale/design/development process
Assist in hardware and software for reference designs and application notes.
Required Experience
Mixed Hardware/Software experience in 8 and 16-bit microcontrollers
Minimum qualification: Degree plus 3 years experience
Some experience of a customer facing role.
Embedded C programming
Interfacing of digital and analogue hardware
Good written and verbal communication skills
