This role will work as part of the project team working at our customer’s site in Derby, to provide application support for the implementation of a business critical Assembly Line Control (ALC) system.
Responsibilities will include:
• Application support lead for the group (working with the customer's engineers and sub-contractors)
• Work according to project schedule and ensure effective communication with project team
• Troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Work with engineers and the customer’s technical teams to support the implementation and facilitate knowledge handover
Candidates for this role must have a degree level education or equivalent and at least 2 years experience in web application development. Demonstrable experience in the following is essential:
Operating System : Ms Dos, Windows 9x / 2000 / XP, UNIX
Languages : C, C++, Java
Internet Application : Html, XML, Jsp, Java Script
IDE : Visual Basic 6.0
Web Servers : Apache Tomcat 5, IIS 4.0
DBMS Knowledge : Ms Access, Ms Excel, MySql, Oracle 8i
Frame Work : Jakarta Struts
Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB)
MVC architecture, XSD

Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage, as is experience in a multi-cultural environment. A flexible attitude and customer facing skills are also important.
This role will be based in Derby but may be required to travel from time to time.
