Our client is the market leading well and subsurface consultancy, providing services to a broad range of clients throughout the world. Most of their business is with major multinational operators such as BP, Shell, Talisman, Amerada Hess and ChevronTexaco but clients also include various national oil companies, smaaler operators and a few less well-established new-start companies.
They help oil and gas producing companies to manage their assets by maximising recoverable reserves, selecting, defining, planning and implementing their field (re)developments and sustainably increasing their production rates. This is done by using their unique breadth and depth of technical expertise, spanning all well and subsurface disciplines, a combination of multi-discipline teams and technical specialists and use of state of the art technologies and business management systems. Due to their rapid expansion they currently have an opening for a Geologist to join their highly successful team based in Aberdeen.
The role will involve exposure to all phases of the asset life cycle from exploration to abandonment. You will provide technical and team leadership to the Geoscience function and to multi-disciplinary integrated teams through the effective application of project management, peer review, quality assurance and client interaction. Your day-to day responsibilities will include:
· Petroleum system analysis including play fairway mapping and prospect generation
· Depositional processes and facies distributions in a variety of settings
· Interpretation and integration of geological data for reservoir characterisation for input into predictive and dynamic models
· 2/3D reservoir modelling, including deterministic and stochastic geocellular modelling techniques
· Quantification of reservoir risk and uncertainty and integration with volumetric calculations
· Decision and risk analysis
· Drilling operations
· Asset evaluation
· Coaching and mentoring of junior staff

Those most suitable for the role will have between 8 and 10 years experience, preferably in an operating environment, have excellent technical skills coupled with good communication skills and a strong emphasis on teamwork.
