Senior Production Chemist

Senior Production Chemist

Aberdeen
Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

Our client is the market leading well and subsurface consultancy, providing services to a broad range of clients throughout the world. Most of their business is with major multinational operators such as BP, Shell, Talisman, Amerada Hess and ChevronTexaco but clients also include various national oil companies, smaller operators and a few less well-established new-start companies.

They help oil and gas producing companies to manage their assets by maximising recoverable reserves, selecting, defining, planning and implementing their field (re)developments and sustainably increasing their production rates. This is done by using their unique breadth and depth of technical expertise, spanning all well and subsurface disciplines, a combination of multi-discipline teams and technical specialists and use of state of the art technologies and business management systems. Due to their rapid expansion they currently have an opening for a Production Chemist to join their highly successful team based in Aberdeen.

The main focus of the role is to provide knowledge and support in all aspects of production chemistry and flow assurance (e.g. phase separation, scale, corrosion, hydrates, wax, asphaltene) ranging from the reservoir to the well, flowline, and topsides to export. This will include:
· Design work
· Planning and troubleshooting studies
· Operations support
· Practical recommendations
· Contribution to multi-disciplinary teams both in-house and with clients
· Oral and written presentations to colleagues and clients

Those most suited to the role will hold a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with postgraduate qualifications preferred, and at least 6 years relevant experience, preferably within the oil industry. Excellent analysis and interpretation skills are required along with a track record that demonstrates delivery, creativity and initiative.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and ambitious candidate to both further develop their technical skills in production chemistry but also to develop new skills, as training and development in synergistic disciplines such as production technology is on offer. An excellent remuneration package is available which includes a competitive salary, a non-contributory pension and health care provision. Equally as important, they will provide you with unparalleled opportunities for professional and self-development in a stretching yet supportive environment.
