Principle UMTS System Engineer (RAN/Iu Interface) Job Spec • Draft / interpret (where applicable) external interface documents • Draft internal interface documents • Draft internal requirements documents related to external interfaces • Track external standardisation activities • Technical contact with external partners for the (Iu) interface • Technical authority on the Iu interface • Attend (where appropriate) meetings with external partners and other agencies • Support product manager with key customer sales issues relating to external interface • Liaise with project teams on any design issues Essential Attributes • PhD or 2:1 in relevant degree • 3-5 years experience in similar role • Deep knowledge of UMTS in particular RAN • Familiarity with RAN specifications • Understanding of IP based systems and IP networks • Prepared to travel • Good inter-personal skills - prepared to make presentations at meetings • Ability to work unaided • Self starter, enthusiastic, motivated etc. Desirable Attributes • Understanding of WCDMA radio interface • Previous experience in drafting documents and specifications jobs@3waynetworks.com
